Parry Barclay is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor degree in Music Education and Saxophone performance from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. While at Indiana, he studied saxophone with Dr. Eugene Rousseau, Dr. David Baker, and conducting with Stephen W. Pratt. Mr. Barclay was a member of the Indiana University Wind Ensemble and of the internationally acclaimed David Baker Jazz Ensemble. Mr. Barclay has taught at the elementary, middle and high school levels and is in his 20th year
as Director of Bands at Carusi. Mr. Barclay has as also served as an adjunct professor at Rutgers University-Camden. In addition to teaching, Mr. Barclay performs as a jazz musician throughout the Philadelphia region. Mr. Barclay has been invited as a clinician by the New Jersey Music Educators Association, the Vineland Public Schools and the Cherry Hill Public Schools. Mr. Barclay’s professional affiliations include the Music Educators National Conference, the National Band Association and the South Jersey Band Orchestra Directors Association.
